FX made the announcement on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 without revealing further details on upcoming season.

Earlier this year, FX CEO John Landgraf stated that the sixth season will be set in the present day, “It’s set in the present although with echoes of the past,” he said. “It’s set in two time periods, but principally in the present.”

While there has been no much details on casting, it has been confirmed that Lady Gaga, Cheyenne Jackson, Sarah Paulson, andAngela Bassett will return for the upcoming sixth season.

On Tuesday, FX also announced that irs comedy series "Atlanta" will return on Tuesday, September 6, while sitcom "Better Things" will return on September 8, 2016.
