Organisers to honour Goodluck Jonathan, Elumelu, Oronto
The organisers of the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) will give special recognition awards to her jury members and some other influential personalities at Mandela Bay, Port Elizabeth, on Friday, September 25, 2015.
In an evening tagged a Night of Gratitude and Tributes, the jury members, Bayelsa State, Former president of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan,Tony Elumelu among others, will be honoured for supporting the Awards and the creative industry generally.

The jury members to be honoured include June Givanni, Asantewa Olatunji , Dorothee Wenner, Keith Shiri, Steve Ayorinde, Shaibu Husseini, Charles Burnett, Professor Hygnius Ekwuazi and Bernie Goldbatt.
On Saturday, September 26, during the awards proper, film makers of African descent like Horace Ovi, Harry Belafonte, Melvine Van Pebbles and Tony Verne, will also be celebrated.
The organisers will also present a posthumous award to the late Oronto Douglas and Ghana's Cofie Ammuako-Annan.

AMAA will also present special recognition awards to MNET Africa Magic Channels for its role in showcasing and investing in Africa’s creative industry through its African content channels in the last 10 years.
