The transformation of Beşiktaş under Dušan Alimpijević has been nothing short of remarkable. In the two seasons prior to his arrival, Beşiktaş finished 10th and 14th in the Turkish league. However, in the last three years, they've secured a third-place finish once and were runners-up twice. Furthermore, under Alimpijević's guidance, Beşiktaş reached the EuroCup final this year (losing to Bourg). Despite not clinching a trophy, it's clear the Serbian coach has revitalized the Istanbul giants over the past three seasons.

Given these achievements, Beşiktaş has extended his contract until the end of the 2027/28 season. The Istanbul Black Eagles are set to compete in the EuroLeague this season and are building a highly competitive squad. They've already brought in Furkan Korkmaz, Scottie Wilbekin, Metehan Birsen, Jalen Nowell, Madia Sissoko, and DaQuan Jeffries, with Eugene Omoruyi and David DeJulius expected to sign soon. Dušan Alimpijević now faces the formidable challenge of integrating these talents and laying the groundwork for Beşiktaş's success in the coming years.

We are continuing our journey with our head coach Dušan Alimpijević. He has earned the trust and support of our community, and we are confident that together we will achieve great success. Therefore, he has signed a new contract that will be valid until the end of the 2027/28 season. We wish Dušan Alimpijević much success in our continued collaboration.Dušan Alimpijević

Before joining Beşiktaş, Alimpijević coached Bursaspor (where, like at Beşiktaş, he was named EuroCup Coach of the Year), Russia's Avtodor, Crvena Zvezda, FMP, Spartak, and Vojvodina. Alimpijević also concurrently serves as the head coach for the Serbian national team.
