Alex Marquez has placed the blame squarely on Marco Bezzecchi following their collision in the early stages of official practice ahead of the Australian Grand Prix.

The two collided on the exit of Turn 3 at Phillip Island, with the impact dislodging the fairing from Bezzecchi's bike. The Aprilia rider subsequently went down in the Turn 4 run-off area, prompting a red flag so marshals could clear the track of debris.

During the stoppage, the stewards reviewed the clash but ruled that neither rider was predominantly to blame, issuing no penalties. However, Marquez was adamant that Bezzecchi was at fault, arguing that the Italian misjudged his move while attempting to pass the Gresini Ducati rider.

"I was in front, on the racing line, and riding at a normal pace. I think his idea at that moment was to overtake me because he was faster than me, but he miscalculated it. Overall, nothing serious happened, so it is what it is," the younger Marquez brother commented.
