Alaba: Spain Possesses Immense Class, It's Hard to Chase the Ball for 90 Minutes
Austria captain David Alaba acknowledged Spain's superiority after his team's elimination in the Round of 16. The experienced defender analyzed the reasons for the defeat and pinpointed when the match turned against the Austrians.
"Spain has a very strong team, with a lot of quality, and they play very calmly on the ball. It was an extremely difficult match. I think we started well, but after the first break, they changed their game a bit, and then it became very tough for us," Alaba shared immediately after the encounter.
The defender highlighted Spain's significant advantage in ball control as their primary weapon.
"Their greatest strength is their ball-playing ability – they possess it immensely, and after 90 minutes, it becomes very difficult to chase after it. They have players with great quality, they are very dangerous, and when they act together, they are extremely secure with the ball at their feet," concluded the Austrian star.
