Agent's Warning: "It's Not Easy to Take Maxi Araújo from Sporting"

Martín Rodríguez Nader, one of the Uruguayan's agents, discussed the winger's future, highlighting the difficulties of a transfer. "Sporting has a lot of money and doesn't sell cheap," he said.

Maxi Araújo, the Sporting left-winger, was one of the club's most valuable assets last season, with his worth further solidified at the recent World Cup. He stood out as one of the few positives in Uruguay's otherwise disappointing campaign. Now, Araújo is a hot topic in the international transfer market, with Manchester United and Chelsea among the prominent clubs linked to his signature.

As A BOLA previously reported, Sporting is determined to retain the left-footed talent, who is protected by an €80 million release clause and a contract extending until 2029. Martin Rodríguez Nader, one of the player's agents, recently discussed the challenges of a potential transfer during an interview with El Espectador Deportes.

“He had a fantastic season in both the league and the Champions League. He then needed to prove himself at the World Cup, and the bigger the challenge, the more he rises to the occasion. When a player excels at Sporting, it's not easy to pry them away. That's the case with Maxi. Sporting has significant financial resources and doesn't sell cheap. There are only 20 or 30 teams globally that could realistically afford Maxi: the Premier League clubs and two or three top teams from the other major leagues. It's highly unlikely Maxi would end up at a club outside of those, given his current club, what he's looking for, and what we're aiming for,” the Uruguayan's agent stated.
