Arase made the comment today, April 25, 2016, during an interview on Channels TV.

“There's no budget for deployment of extra Police to Agatu Crisis, we have to take care of officers there to avoid low morale,” he said.

“The Agatu Crisis is a seasonal outburst, what we should do is to create buffer zones by building policing structures there,” he added.

Arase had earlier also denied reports that 300 people were killed by Fulani herdsmen in Agatu during a clash in February 2016.
