Adverse weather conditions at Phillip Island have disrupted the track schedule for the Australian MotoGP Grand Prix.
The primary issue stems from poor visibility, which currently prevents the medical helicopter from operating safely if required. Under safety protocols, track action cannot be cleared to proceed in such conditions, regardless of the state of the circuit itself.
Action on race day was originally scheduled to commence with the 10-minute MotoGP Warm-up session, but it has since been postponed. Officials are hopeful that conditions will clear sufficiently around the time the Moto3 race was slated to begin. Race delays are now inevitable, with a full, revised schedule to be announced at the earliest opportunity.
