Adebayo Doesn't Need 83 Points for Miami to Rout Washington! Nikola Jović Finally Returns to the Court

Less than a month ago, Bam Adebayo led the Miami Heat to a dominant victory over the Washington Wizards with an incredible 83 points. This time, however, he didn't need to carry such a heavy load, as Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kelel Ver, and Andrew Wiggins handled the bulk of the work in a 152-136 win.

With a dismal 17 wins and 59 losses this season, the Washington Wizards, alongside Brooklyn and Indiana, are unequivocally among the worst teams in the NBA. Miami had little trouble dispatching them tonight.

Miami established a significant lead in the second quarter, even extending it to a staggering 35 points in the third. However, they eased off the gas in the final period, allowing the Wizards to narrow the deficit to a more — shall we say — respectable 16 points.

The Wizards, predictably, were without the injured Trae Young and Anthony Davis. Former Partizan player Tristan Vukčević also missed the game due to a knee issue.

Will Riley was the Wizards' top scorer with 31 points, while the aforementioned Jaquez Jr. led Miami with 32. Kelel Ver contributed 24 points and 19 rebounds. Serbian international Nikola Jović managed only five points. While not an impressive scoring performance, it's encouraging that Jović saw minutes at all, considering he's been sidelined for much of Miami's recent games.

As mentioned, Washington is at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings and is likely already looking ahead to the upcoming NBA Draft. Miami, on the other hand, has long secured a play-in tournament spot and currently holds a record of 41 wins and 37 losses.
