According to the Supercomputer, Zvezda Faces Uphill Battle as EuroLeague Regular Season Nears End
With just four rounds remaining in the EuroLeague regular season, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet currently shares ninth place with Barcelona, holding a 19-14 record.
Saša Obradović's squad faces Partizan at home on April 2nd, followed by a double-round week where they first host Paris, then travel to Villeurbanne to play ASVEL, before concluding their regular season campaign with an away game against Real Madrid.
Their loss to Barcelona last week has cast doubt on their chances of making the play-in tournament.
The specialized Twitter profile "Figurei8ht," known for years of EuroLeague analysis and table projections, significantly lowered Crvena Zvezda's playoff and play-in odds after Obradović's team was defeated in Blaugrana.
The Belgrade team is now given a 79% chance to reach the play-in, but only an 11% chance for one of the top six spots that guarantee direct playoff qualification. Analysts estimate a 21% probability of missing the postseason entirely, while a top-four finish remains a theoretical long shot at 2%.
Just three rounds ago, this supercomputer had predicted a very different scenario. At that time, Zvezda had a 92% chance of finishing in the top 10 and a substantial 44% chance of securing a top-six spot. Two losses in three games have dramatically altered their standing.
You can find the schedule for teams vying for a top-10 finish in a separate news report.
