Accidental Discharge: Policeman reportedly kills unknown election observer

The police in Enugu State has blamed an accidental discharge for the death of an election observer. [Premium Times Nigeria]

<strong>In Enugu State, an election observer has reportedly been shot dead by a policeman in what and the force has described the incident as an accidental discharge.</strong>

The event took place at a location, Enugu Ezike in the Igbo-Eze north local government area. In a report by The Cable News, a spokesperson for the Ebere Amarizu shared with reporters that the death was an accident.

According to the report, the policeman who fired the shot directed at the head of the deceased was stationed close to the residence of a governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), identified as Ayogu Eze.

The election observer who saw a visit to the St Mary’s Hospital in Enugu Ezike, reportedly had a confrontation with the officer before he was shot.
