AC Milan has reportedly reached an agreement with Strasbourg for Belgian winger Diego Moreira. The deal is valued at €50 million plus bonuses and a percentage of any future sale of the player. The 22-year-old had a prior agreement with RB Leipzig, but negotiations between the German club and Strasbourg stalled, allowing the "Rossoneri" to swoop in. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma also made an offer for Moreira, which was rejected. Nicolò Schira, meanwhile, reveals that the left winger will sign a contract with Milan until 2031, earning three million euros annually.
Milan's involvement was quite unexpected, with the breakthrough achieved rapidly thanks to the assistance of agent Jorge Mendes.
Chelsea signed Moreira on a free transfer in the summer of 2023, but he only made one appearance for the London club in the League Cup. Immediately after, he was loaned to Lyon, and in the summer of 2024, he moved to Strasbourg on a permanent transfer for €8.5 million, with a buy-back clause that the "Blues" did not exercise. Last season, he scored five goals and provided 42 assists for Strasbourg.
Moreira is currently awaiting clearance to travel to Milan for his medical examination. His arrival fuels speculation that Rafael Leão may soon depart AC Milan.
