Kwara Governor inaugurates Judicial Commission of Enquiry into Iloffa/Odo-Owa clashes
Kwara State Governor, Alhaji (Dr.) Abdulfatah Ahmed, has inaugurated the Judicial Commission of Enquiry into the Iloffa/Odo-Owa communal clashes in the state.
On Wednesday, July 5, 2016, the Governor charged the commission with primarily investigating the immediate and remote causes of the violent communal clashes between Iloffa and Odo-Owa, and establishing the extent of loss and damage to lives and properties.
The commission is chaired by the state's Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Sulyman Durosinlorun Kawu.
Elder David A. Adesina, Permanent Secretary, Political, Cabinet & Special Services, Governor’s Office will serve as the commission's Secretary.
Members include, Emir of Shonga, HRH Alhaji (Dr.) Ndanusa Haliru Yahaya; Solicitor-General/Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Mrs. Funsho Dada Lawal; Professional Arbitrator, Bayo Ojo & Co., Barr. Taiye Oniyide; a Representative of the Commissioner of Police; and a Representative of Director, Dept. Of State Security Services (SSS)
