Partizan was languishing in 19th place with a 9-20 record at the end of February, but the return of Jones injected much-needed energy – and the black-and-whites are now on a five-game winning streak.

The MVP of the Month award came precisely after those five games, during which Jones averaged 18.4 points, 4.8 assists, and a performance index rating of 20.8. He shot 60.0% from two-point range and also contributed 3.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.

"Being the first Partizan player to win the MVP of the Month award since 2009 is a huge deal. I think our 5-0 run is an even bigger success considering the tough season we've been through, with a coaching change, some player changes, and the arrival of a new head coach. It's a difficult situation, but I believe this is a huge bright spot for us – the fact that we stepped onto the court this month and strung together wins. This is the first time we've had a four or five-game winning streak, so we'll just keep building on that, and I hope this gives us additional energy." - Carlik Jones

This marks Jones's first MVP of the Month award, making him the fourth Partizan player to receive this honor, following Milt Palacio (March 2008), Novica Veličković (February 2009), and Aleks Marić (December 2009).
