In the 2022/2023 season, Crvena Zvezda secured 17 victories, finishing 10th in the EuroLeague and missing out on the playoffs. Last year, under the guidance of Ioannis Sfairopoulos, the team surpassed that record with 18 wins, yet again placing 10th and qualifying for the play-in tournament. However, the Red and Whites were eliminated by Bayern in the play-in.

This season, however, Saša Obradović's squad has already shattered that record, achieving 19 wins after just 33 rounds. With five games remaining, they've set a new club best.

These five remaining games are effectively five finals for the Red and Whites. They face Barcelona this Friday, followed by a derby clash against Partizan. Saša Obradović's men will then take on Paris, Asvel, and Real Madrid.

Saša Obradović's Pre-Barcelona Comments

Barcelona's form has been inconsistent, but we're certainly expecting a very tough match. Playing in the atmosphere of the Palau Blaugrana is never easy. We have several players who are quite fatigued from yesterday's game, but there's no room for tiredness now; we're in a crucial phase of the season. We'll refresh and recover. We need to play this game with full concentration and energy, especially focusing on Barcelona's key players: Panter, Clyburn, Shengelia, although the entire team is exceptionally talented. We can only stop them with team play, in a game that will likely be low-scoring. Barcelona played patiently until the very end in Belgrade and imposed their rhythm. We'll need to be mentally resilient until the final whistle and look for our chances there. Saša Obradović
