"Roc Nation should sign Ice Prince, Phyno, Reminisce, Erigga and maybe ClassiQ"
Rapper A-Q has released his list of rappers that Roc Nation should sign. They include “Phyno, Reminisce, Ice Prince, Erigga and maybe Classiq”.
There have been rumours that Jay Z is planning on establishing the African arm of his 360 music company, and that Ice Prince will be signed under the platform.
A-Q revealed his thoughts about the news to Pulse, naming five Nigerian rappers that he believes will benefit from the international record label.
“Phyno, Reminisce, Ice Prince, Erigga and maybe ClassiQ. These rappers offer something different to the world and can have the same effect that has internationally, rappers like myself, , , and others don't need an international platform to reach out to the world, we can conveniently do with from here if we have a developed industry. A-Q said.
The rapper further expressed his disappointment at the present state of the Nigerian music industry, revealing that he had a laugh on hearing the Roc Nation rumor.
“I laughed when I first heard the news. Are they coming to do business with us or show us how to exploit our own music? "A-Q asked.
“My thoughts are as good as any, they see our industry as untapped grounds and are here to tap our resources, it’s a shame because the people I looked up to have not shown any dexterity in shaping the industry to what it should be, now I only look to self; if we need Roc nation to come and make our industry what it should be, then fine they are highly welcome.”
A-Q is releasing a new album titled, ‘Son of John 2’ on Thursday, May 21, 2015. The album which is a sequel to the mixtape released earlier titled ‘Son of John,’ would see the forthcoming project come as an online/digital album. It will be sold for N50.
