A personal reflection of the poet's journey to serve his fatherland

And so i heard the call

A clarion call it was

A call to serve the fatherland

And swiftly i sprang in response

It was a journey from the West

Through the south down to the East

It required crossing several rivers

Climbing hills and downing through valleys

From the 'Centre of Excellence'

And 'State of Aquatic Splendour'

To 'God's own state'

And 'Number one state in the federation'

The journey took forever

As the bus swerved and jumped

No thanks to the potbellied roads

Hired as agents of death

The trees danced in style

Waved their flags on both sides of the road

The buttocks cried in silence

But it was a national call...'No option'
