The 90s Baby Sound Off music June edition aimed at showcasing new, rising and emerging talents out the Nigerian music industry held successfully on June 30, 2017, at the Underground club Lekki Lagos.

Wanita and Tosin Mark were hosts on the night, both pulling it off nice with bants, getting the audience pumped up and hyping the performing artists all night long.

One of the headline acts JazzZ Atta, a Soul R&B musician who held a listening of her EP “Practice” at the event, performing along with Boogey and 90s Baby frontman Idris King alongside on the tracks ‘Pill’ and ‘Ice’ respectively.

Atta, delighted to be sharing the project with the audience spoke about the creative process and inspiration behind some of the songs off the EP.  After her appearance, the rest of her EP was left playing for the crowd to soak in.

Hip Hop was also very much on the menu with pretty impressive display of wordplay, spoken word and finesse rap graced the audience’s ear buds.

Peter Clarke was fantastic with his performance of ‘OG levels (Zone out)’, proving himself as one of the finest Nigerian Hip Hop acts out there.

The Kazez twins were also on point as they performed a track about ‘Time’, which was laced with witty wordplay and a clear message about valuing and appreciating the concept of time. Crowd favorite song ‘Alcohol’ also was performed.

Emerging female rap act Onome was bursting with so much infectious energy as she got the audience chanting ‘Onome Onome Onome. She showed confidence and owned her performance very well with her punchlines and stage craft.

Barelyanyhook was also an exciting rap act to watch and listen to him perform.

Temilade, a cool calm and collected act gifted us with a laidback R&B feel with songs she performed, which she also produced - ‘Try me’ and ‘I know’ are titles of the tracks she performed.

Jinmi Abduls also came through, performing the emotional love song ‘Long distance’, a song that would flatter popular blogger Linda Ikeji -  ‘Linda Highlife’ and ‘Slowly’ featuring Remy Baggins off his recently released EP “Jinmi Of Lagos (JOLAG)”.

Young Omagz was in the mix as well performing his single ‘Osho free’ that features Genio Bambino and also got on to perform a duet with Wavy The Creator, the singer who everyone was particularly excited to see perform.

Wavythecreator, performing for the very first time on the night, looking very hip, got everyone vibing as she performed her debut single, a House style music titled ‘H.I.G.H’.

Idris King then came through performing his new song ‘Cruise’ and his 90s baby theme song ‘Squad’ as he gave pep talks in between about how their generation going to be the ones to impact positive turnarounds in the society and country that is Nigeria.

King then ushered in the promised Hip Hop acts Show Dem Camp, who in turn called up singer BOJ to join the party as they started out performing their 2013 fan favourite song ‘Feel alright before going on to perform tracks ‘Popping again’ and ‘Compose’ off their critically acclaimed 2017 recently released “Palmwine Music” EP.

It was pure good fun and  vibes at the end as they rounded off the performance after a little technical glitch.

The 90s Baby Sound Off June edition was a successful music and art showcase, for the organizers, artists, and audience that came out to support and have a good time.
