Gernot Rohr has decided to add another goalkeeper to the Super Eagles team to face South Africa and Uganda.
The 19-year-old Uzoho has become the Super Eagles starting goalkeeper starting from the friendly games before the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Uzoho was confirmed out of the upcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) clash against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
There have been speculations as to if Rohr would add another shot-stopper to his list after naming Daniel Akpeyi and Afelokhai ‘s back up at Enyimba Ikechukwu Ezenwa.
His inclusion was confirmed through a message on the official Twitter handle of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The message said, “Official: @EnyimbaFC's shot-stopper Theophilus Afelokhai replaces injured @Uzohof for @NGSuperEagles 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against @BafanaBafana of South Africa.”
Afelokhai was a key component of Enyimba’s defence as they were knocked out of CAF Confederation Cup by Moroccan side Raja Casablanca.
He is not the only player from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) that is in the team as he joins Ezenwa and FC Ifeanyi Ubah defender Adeleye Aniyikaye.
The Super Eagles face off with South Africa on Saturday, November 17 before a friendly game against Uganda on Tuesday, November 20.
