Police arrest man after 19 years in hiding

After almost two decades in hiding, a resident of Hajnówka in Poland, wanted on a European arrest warrant, was arrested in Great Britain.

The 38-year-old who committed the robbery returned to the country to serve a four-year prison sentence. Justice, though slow, proved inevitable.

Since 2005, he had been living in hiding, avoiding punishment for crimes from years ago. His criminal activities included robbery and participation in a fight that ended with severe bodily harm to the victim.

A resident of Hajnówka arrested abroad for a robbery from 19 years ago

The incident that led to the issuance of the arrest warrant took place near the Hajnówka railway station. Then, the perpetrator and his companion attacked another man, beating him and taking 10 cigarettes. The consequences for the injured party's health were serious.

After being detained in Great Britain, the man was extradited to Poland last week. Now, after years of avoiding responsibility, the 38-year-old was sent directly to a Polish prison. He faces four years in prison, during which he will answer for his past sins.
