PDP exposes plot to assassinate Dino Melaye

The PDP also condemned the use of security operatives to harass and intimidate its members.

This was made known in a statement issued to newsmen by PDP’s spokesman in Kogi state, Usman Okai.

According to Vanguard, the party said that the assassins were instructed to kill Melaye in his Abuja home.

The statement reads: “We have it on good authority from a reliable source privy to the plan…allegedly mandated to carry out this undemocratic plans between tonight 10th February and tomorrow. 

“We in the PPCC therefore call on the Inspector General of Police to call his men to order and to also use this opportunity to inform the general public especially the good people of Kogi West Senatorial District of this wicked plans and to resist such movies. 

“The PPCC notes that the fortune of the party in the coming election has continued to soar on a daily basis. No amount of intimidation would change the minds of the peoples’ rejection of the APC-led administration and for all its candidates in Kogi state.

 “The PPCC called on the people of Kogi State, particularly its members in Kogi west senatorial district to be vigilant and watchful as the Gov. Bello’s administration, having failed to perform, now realises that its time is up, now has resorted to intimidation, harassment and arrest of members of the PDP.”

Senator Dino Melaye was recently granted bail on health grounds by Justice Yusuf Halilu of the Federal High Court, Abuja on Friday, January 18, 2019.
