Bamise: Lady who went missing after boarding BRT found dead, 2 suspects arrested

Bamise was said to have sent distress messages to her friends when she felt uncomfortable in the vehicle due to the conduct of the driver.

22-yr-old Bamise found dead after boarding BRT, police arrest 2 suspects.

Police operatives in Lagos State have reportedly arrested two suspects linked to the kidnap of a 22-year-old fashion designer, Ayanwole Bamise, who has now been found dead.

Bamise was reported to have gone missing on Saturday, February 26, 2022, after boarding a BRT bus from Chevron Bus Stop, Lekki, to Oshodi around 7 pm.

When she felt uncomfortable in the vehicle due to the conduct of the driver, Bamise reportedly sent distress messages to her friends.

She was said to have sent the vehicle details to them in case anything happened to her and also asked them to pray for her.

The Lagos Bus Rapid Transit System, better known as BRT is a transportation system regulated by Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) and operated by Primero Transport Services Limited.

Speaking on the arrest of the suspects, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi said they are currently providing useful information to detectives at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti.

Alabi said; “This case is delicate and we are being careful to avoid jeopardising investigation. The young girl is yet to be found. The suspect too disappeared almost the same time. So, releasing names of those in custody or giving certain details could tip him off or even put the victim in more danger.”

However, reports on social media stated the 22-year-old lady has been found dead with her body parts missing.

In a video circulating on social media, Bamise’s mother identified the number plate of the BRT bus her daughter boarded among the buses parked at one of the BRT stations in the state.

The old woman was seen in the video crying out and calling on the state government to help find her daughter.

The BRT driver has also been identified as Nice Andrew Omininikoron as many Nigerians share his photos and personal details on social media.
