The 'Always Sunny' Gang Just Took Over the Old Set of 'The Office' For Season 14
The Gang are heading from Paddy's Pub to Dunder Mifflin. With shooting underway on the 14th season of FX comedy series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the production has moved into a California set which previously doubled as another famous fictional Pennsylvania workplace: The Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, otherwise known to millions as the setting of The Office.
'Always Sunny' Gang Take Over Old 'The Office' Set
Series creator Rob McElhenney, who plays Mac in the show, revealed the new shooting location in a video which he posted to Instagram this week. "Apparently this is Dunder Mifflin, I guess, where they shot The Office," he said, with the building in the background. "I wasn't 100% sure of that. But they're gone now. They're off the air. And now you got..." He then rotated his phone to show Danny DeVito standing in the doorway to his trailer, wearing no pants, talking to Charlie Day. "Sorry, Carell," McElhenney added. "I guess your show got canceled or whatever, but we're still doing ours."
Both The Office and Always Sunny premiered in 2005. But while The Office made a lasting impact on pop culture, running far longer than the British sitcom on which it was based and helping launch the careers of just about everyone who appeared on it, it did go off the air in 2013, while Always Sunny is still going strong.
The show, which follows the petty schemes of a group of heavy-drinking misanthropes who run an Irish pub, will tie with The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet as the longest-running live action sitcom on American television when its 14th season airs this fall. And it's entirely possible that it may soon single-handedly claim the title, with FX CEO John Landgraf saying: "As long as we can come to business terms that fit both our needs and they can continue to make episodes as good as they have been making, there is a good chance it may go past Season 14."

Season 14 of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia will air on FX on September 25.
