A 23-year-old student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana, has been arrested by the police for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl through the anus for three years
Ghana Web reports that the suspect also gave the girl a cocktail of painkiller drugs after each act, causing her kidneys to fail.
It was gathered that the suspect was arrested on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, while relaxing in his father's house following the victim's death.
His arrest came after she complained of pains in her anus and after a series of medical tests conducted on her showed some complications on her anus and after she was taken to a hospital, she mentioned the student as being responsible.
Family sources told Web that the young girl was living with the suspect's father and he took advantage of her innocence to sexually abuse her.
He was said to have warned the girl not to reveal his sexual encounters with her to anyone or else she would die.
Multiple lab tests conducted on the girl revealed damages on her anus, intestines, and kidneys.
Facebook users in the country have been condemning the act on several posts.
One user who gave her name as Roni Nicol posted:
"This guy raped this young girl in the anus resulting in her death. Apparently, he was even being sponsored by the girls family. Be careful of people around your kids.

"It isn’t the rape only that caused the death of the innocent girl… he has been giving the little girl about 7/8 tablets of paracetamol after every act for a period of 3 years and that resulted in kidneys’ damage. I wept when I heard the news on Wednesday. Very sad!"
The police spokesman said investigations into the incident has begun in earnest and the suspect would be charged to court as soon as they are done with it.
