It has been revealed that fraudsters have allegedly cloned the phone number of the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, using it to defraud people.
EFCC boss' number reportedly cloned by fraudsters
The frauds commission reportedly raised alarm on the situation yesterday, April 6, 2016, calling on Nigerians to beware of the suspects who are now being trailed.
This development arises following the extension of EFCC's extended dragnet over former public office holders.
The statement released to the public by the spokesman for EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said:
“For the avoidance of doubts, the EFCC Chairman and, indeed, all officials of the agency, do not solicit for nor accept payments/gratification from persons or organisations under any guise.”
