Is it okay for a man to beat a woman?

Pulse strivia team interviewed Nigerians in Lagos, Enugu and Kano, asking them if it is okay for a man to beat a woman. The answers were varied and interesting.

Issues like sexual harassment, domestic violence and marital rape are not seen as problems by many Nigerians. A lot of Nigerians are even unaware that these things are issues and that they are wrong.

According to the ranking, and a look at our immediate society, we can see the stark reality that we still have a very long way to go as regards gender equality and all gender related issues.This is why ‘The 50/50’ campaign was developed. Courtesy of the organisers of the 50/50 campaign, Pulse strivia team interviewed both men and women across three states across Nigeria; Kano, Enugu and Lagos.

They were all asked the same question ''is it okay for a man to beat a woman?'' There were different kinds of responses and the answers exposes the thoughts of Nigerians on domestic violence and female harassment.
