The Lagos State Police Command is sticking to its guns on the alleged killing of a 60-year-old man by a police officer.

An earlier publication reported an incident where two police officers were pursuing a commercial bus driver.

In the process, an elderly man was accidentally knocked into the gutter.

One of the police officers escaped after seeing blood gush out from the man's head who laid motionless in the sewer.

A mob descended on the remaining officer forcing him to bring the body of the man out.

Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Force, Dolapo Badmos has however denied that any officer killed the man.

She claimed investigation is still ongoing into the matter which has stirred emotions since the occurrence was captured in a viral video.

Reacting to a question concerning the incident, Badmos said, “Who pushed him inside the gutter? The allegation is false.”

“Investigation is still ongoing on the case."

According to Punch News, the elderly man who was reportedly killed by the police officer was waiting to board a bus to Iyana-Ipaja when the incident occurred.
