Samuel Olatunji, the producer of "Seven and a Half Dates," has said that the movie made 10 million naira in three days.
"Nigerians love quality movie," he wrote, celebrating the success of the movie which he also said emerged the second highest grossing of the weekend, only behind the Hollywood film, "Mission Impossible: Fallout."
He described this as a major feat. According to Olatunji, only two Nollywood movies - one of which is "The Ghost and the Tout," which was also produced by him - has made over 50 million naira this year.
The romantic comedy which is still showing in cinemas stars Mercy Johnson, Sola Sobowale, Toyin Aimakhu, Bayray Mcnwizu, Frank Donga, Ali Nuhu, Akin Lewis, Jim Iyke and Fathia Williams.
