Ex Olympic gold medalist, Bruce Jenner, now turned transgender female, Caitlyn Jenner has admitted that she had gotten emotional after the name change.
Transgender admits to crying after name change as she features on OUT100 magazine
The transgender and reality star explained that it had been emotionally difficult to say goodbye to 'Bruce.'
Named as OUT100's Newsmaker Of The Year, the 66-year-old spoke about the day after a court granted her request to legally change her name to Caitlyn.
"I actually cried a little bit about it. I was on the golf course, off playing by myself. It was very exciting, but such a head trip.
" In some ways, it’s a little sad. Bruce was a good guy, did a lot of good things, raised a tremendous family and wonderful kids. But I just couldn’t play that game any longer.
"Just like anybody going through a transition, people find it hard to make the difference between ‘he’ and ‘she’ and gender markers and name changes. It’s tough for me to realize that finally, after all of this time, I’m part of the community".
Caitlyn has become a strong figure to transgenders all over the world, she was nominated for Glamour magazine's 'Woman of the year' award.
Although, fashion designer, Victoria Beckham, took home the award, the nomination must have felt like a lot.
