Celebrities recount their "Never Settle For Less" stories as Glo unveils campaign, unique  products

Ahead of its 23rd anniversary next week, digital solutions provider Globacom, on Wednesday in Lagos, launched a new brand campaign, “Never Settle For Less”, along with new products and services designed to enable Nigerians to achieve more.

“Never Settle For Less” is a call for Nigerians to always demand the best in the pursuit of their goals. Globacom said this mindset is key to excelling in today’s competitive world with many opportunities to explore.

The highlight of the event was personal testimonies from guests who embodied the “Never Settle For Less” spirit. Fashion entrepreneur Mai Atafo recounted how he walked away from a paid job as a brand manager in a big company to build his own label.

“That decision to not settle was scary, but today it has positioned me as one of the best suit makers in Africa,” he said. Also, veteran journalist and broadcaster, Dr Reuben Abati, shared his journey. He said consistently challenging himself to go further rather than settle helped him reach the peak of his career.

He commended Globacom for its commitment to innovation over the years, noting that “innovation is the soul of business” whether in technology, business development, entertainment or other areas.

Also musician, Chike, while speaking at the event stated that when he first started his career, he hosted a concert that barely had an audience. According to him “one of the few people in attendance, however, was a Nigeria Media personality and TV show host, and that gave me the motivation to push forward”. Today, his shows are consistently overbooked and well-attended — a proof that he chose to Never Settle For Less.

Speaking at the event, company representative Uche Ogwuda said: “digital services have become the magic tool to transform lives, and anyone who understands that success is aided by the application of transformative telecommunication products and services will understand never to settle for less."

To match the campaign, Glo unveiled four new and upgraded offerings: Welcome Bonus, Talkmasta Reloaded, Magic Bundles and the revamped Glo Café App. All are designed to give customers more value for money. The popular Glo Talkmaster “6 for 6” plan now gives 6 free minutes + 100MB free data for every 6 minutes of calls. That is 50MB more data than before, while with the Welcome Bonus, every new Glo SIM activation now comes with N2,100 in benefits including 20 minutes to all networks, 2GB free data, and 1-month free GloTV Premium subscription.

Also, Magic Data Bundle, a first-of-its-kind in Nigeria, was part of the package launched. It ensures that every qualifying data purchase comes with guaranteed data + an automatic Magic Bonus Data.

“The Magic Bonus Data transforms data subscription into a rewarding experience because customers know they will always receive the guaranteed data purchased while also anticipating an additional Magic Bonus. The product is offered at 2 price points – N1600 & N 3500. Customers receive between 500 MB and 12GB magic bonuses on different Magic Data Bundles,” Ogwuda stated.

Magic Bundles can be bought on the Glo Café App or by dialling 312#.

Also, the new Glo Café self-service app has been revamped with a youthful interface, new security features and payment options. The biggest highlight of the app is Gloria, Globacom’s first AI-powered Voice & Text Assistant in Nigeria. Gloria answers questions and finds the best offers in seconds in 5 languages: English, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, French & Spanish.

First-time users also get a free 100GB, 100% bonus on every recharge, and special deals like 10GB for N2,500 and 10% extra data on bundles. Customers can download on Google Playstore and Apple App Store.
