2018 for most fashionistas is still a recurrence of what happened in 2017.
Several people have tried to experiment a trend this year but everyone seems to conform to what trended last year but however with a few exceptions. We look at the top five trends in 2018
Off The Shoulder Dresses:
Off Shoulder Dresses trended last year and it was an instant hit mainly due to it dynamic style. It could be one sided or balanced at the two sides. And it comes with a lot of risks. Exposing the upper part of the body! It's a major sight at the owanbe parties and it's a delightful fashion style.
Cross Bag/Sling Bag:
This style trended especially with celebrities like Wizkid, Davido and Olamide who would perform on stages with cross bags. So many people have re-enacted this style and it never gets tiring. It's a major sight on streets and clubs where guys mainly use it to conceal items that might include hard currencies.
Brogues/Chelsea Boots:
Chelsea boots particularly started trending a lot this year due to its professional and smart look. It gives the average person the youthful look especially when worn on jeans. Brogues is mainly worn on corporate outfits.
Adire Shirts:
Adire outfits trended three years ago but it seems it keeps going and coming back. This year, it has made an entry and not due to Adekunle Gold this time but due to its urban patterns and designs. It gives a smart and colourful look. Made In Nigeria!
Loud Logos/Designer Outfits:
Gucci! Louis Vuitton! Fendi! Calvin Klein! Nigerians this year seems to be enchanted by the love for designer outfits. From Wizkid to Davido all joining the Gucci and Louis Gang, the average Nigerian is not left out and also want to join in the craze for designer outfits.
Also, the love for sweat pants this year alone has been huge. Most of these sweat pants were cheap but there has been an high demand for sweat pants this year and it has led to their increase in price of these outfits.
There are still many more fashion trends making noise in 2018. Pencil skirt is gradually taking over, Split skirt also. Which other fashion trend deserves to be on this list?
