After being gifted a whopping ₦20million by Burna Boy for winning his boxing match against Speed Darlington, controversial singer Portable has taken to social media to emphasise the importance of gratitude.
In an Instagram post, the ZaZoo Zehh crooner didn’t hold back in praising Burna Boy, whom he now fondly refers to as "Burna Daddy."
He said, “If someone gives you two thousand naira in Nigeria, thank the person well o. Because all some other people can give you is advice, you can lay down in front of them and they won't give you anything. I just want to thank Burna Boy, Odogwu for the 20 million he gave me. I love you. You're now a Burna Daddy, not Burna Boy."
Pesin wey big send me big money. Some people would just talk to you and advice you without supporting you. 99 advisers and only one helper. In this country, if someone gives you as little as 1k , thank them. Allow me thank Burna Boy over and over.
In a video posted on social media by Portable earlier, the ZaZoo Zehh singer asked his team to call Burna’s manager, who confirmed that the ‘Last Last’ singer had sent the money.
An excited Portable hailed Burna, calling him his helper, and said he would not keep the N20 million gift a secret, as he had been asked to by the manager.
Sharing the video of the interaction on his Instagram story, Portable wrote, “20 million from @burnaboygram. If you wanna be like Odogwu, can you do like Odogwu? God bless your family.”
However, shortly after that, Portable claimed that Burna Boy was being ‘stingy with his replies on Instagram’ and snubbing his requests for a song collaboration.
Portable said, “Burna Boy gave me 20 million naira, but he won’t reply my DMs on Instagram, pick my calls, or even link me. I don’t even have his number. The 20M will finish — what I really need from him is a verse. Why are you so stingy with your replies?”
