Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo put Rangers ahead in the 57th minute but Colombian striker Rafael Borre equalized for Frankfurt.

The German side would end up winners of the Europa League on penalties but fans from several clubs took to Twitter to appreciate the performance of Bassey.

Bassey featured in central defense but was huge on both sides of the game for Rangers.

Former Manchester United midfielder Own Hargreaves celebrated the performance of Bassey while speaking on BT Sport.

He said, “Calvin Bassey, my word, what a performance. That was astonishing, the energy and effort. Everything about his game was fantastic.

“Anyone watching that will be thinking: ‘That’s the kind of player I want in my team”.
