Man of God single-handedly untangles traffic jam in pouring rain!

Over the weekend, a man of God, Manila Archbishop Emeritus Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales, took care of the traffic situation in Batangas during a downpour.

Man of God

We live in a world full of so much wrongdoings, it becomes very easy to lose hope in mankind.

Thankfully, every once in a while, some kind soul comes along to remind us of all the good humans are capable of.

A classic example is the case of Manila Archbishop Emeritus Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales, who single-handedly solved a traffic mess in heavy downpour!

The 83-year-old had to literally take matters into his hands as he went out of his way to solve a dispute that was causing the traffic jam.

"We were trapped for over an hour and we were rushing to another engagement. I said to myself: 'we cannot take this anymore."

Seeing no traffic officers, the cardinal got out of his car, zipped up his raincoat and walked nearly a kilometer to find out what was causing the 1.6-kilometer long traffic.

He found that the problem was simply six cars fighting over two lanes in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.

"We're all in a hurry," he told them and proceeded to solve the problem by using hand signals to force the vehicles to back up.

While untangling the traffic mess, the rain reduced and people were able to see the giant crucifix peeking out of his jacket.

Immediately, the erring motorists, who caused the traffic, got out of their vehicles to kiss his ring.

When asked about future traffic situations, Rosales, who has endured his share of hours-long traffic jams during his eight-year term as archbishop of Manila beginning in 2003, said he would continue to serve as a make-do traffic cop whenever the need arose.

Agence France-Presse reports that he laughed while saying, "next time,i'll be sure to bring a whistle."
