A Very Important Personality (VIP) yesterday entered the Kuje Prison in Abuja. Former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Alex Badeh (retd.), who was ordered remanded in prison by Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja, came in about 11.30am – amid tight security. READ MORE

Autopsy conducted on Ocholi, wife, son as Nigerians mourn
Tears were still flowing yesterday for Minister of State (Labour and Employment) James Ocholi, who died on Sunday along with his wife and son in an accident on the Kaduna-Abuja highway. The National Hospital in Abuja has conducted an autopsy on the bodies. One of the survivors of the crash has been declared stable in hospital. READ MORE

APC man burnt alive as ‘thugs’ kill five in Rivers
A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ofinijite Amachree, was burnt alive in Buguma, Asari-Toru Local Government of Rivers State yesterday. Amachree was beaten up and burnt. Five were clubbed to death between Saturday and Sunday. READ MORE

Dangote plans to generate 12,000MW of electricity
The President, Dangote Industries, Aliko Dangote, has said his company should be able to generate about 12,000 megawatts of electricity for the country by 2018. He also said that his business estate would start selling foreign exchange to the Central Bank of Nigeria by 2020. READ MORE

THE freed female students of the Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary in Ikorodu, Lagos State, resumed at the school on Monday, but were immediately whisked away. The Clerk to the then House of Representatives Ad hoc Committee on Fuel Subsidy, Boniface Emenalo, on Monday told a Federal Capital Territory High Court, Lugbe, how he collected $100,000 from billionaire businessman, Mr. Femi Otedola, as part of the alleged $3m bribe promised to the then Chairman of the committee, Farouk Lawan.
