Ooni of Ife's marriage to Olori Wuraola allegedly collapses

It seems the 17 months old marriage of the first class traditional monarch has collapsed beyond repairs like a badly placed pack of cards.

Ooni of Ife Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi and his ex wife, Olori Wuraola

According to stories making the rounds in the last 24 hours, the Olori has been running from pillar to post, including going to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, to intervene in the crisis rocking the marriage, to no avail.

It was gathered that for some time now, the once blissful marriage between the stylish monarch and the pretty Queen Wuraola has been going through serious turmoil despite the happy front they put up whenever they are in the public and with the way things are going, the marriage has finally hit the rocks.

Inside sources close to the palace informed that the marriage has been on a shaky footing for some months now and the Oba and his Olori had been trying to manage it and keep it away from the media but as is stands, they could not put a permanent lid to it.

Another source who does not want his name in print told Pulse that the crisis that led to the collapse of the royal marriage stem from allegations of infidelity, high handedness, disrespect for culture and traditional chiefs on the part of the Olori.

In another development, stories have emerged that the Ife Traditional Council has already lined up a befitting bride for the Ooni to replace Queen Wuraola as the King cannot stay without a Queen which would be against the tradition of the land.

“The new queen will be unveiled by the end of the month or sometime in September. The king of the Yorubas can not be a bachelor,” a source said.

According to a palace source who confided in a senior journalist, the new Queen who would replace the Olori has been picked and is a Yoruba lady, unlike Queen Wuraola who is from Edo State and is not very conversant with the culture.
