Greg Amucha , was basically born with a “silver spoon “, I mean , he is an original “Omo baba Ol’owo” .

Background

His primary, secondary and tertiary education was as expected, second to none. He graduated Egregia Cum Laude, in Banking and Finance. Egregia is the highest honor, second only to completely perfect, if you know what I mean. So you see, it wasn’t just about the “pepper and power”, the boy had brains and put ‘em to good use.

Now the average Nigerian rich kid, is loud with a capital L! Power bikes, sports car, bling bling , baffs , babes and clubbing … but not Greg, he appeared to be more fascinated with libraries , old movies and classic music. Hellooo..Classic music ke? l’aiye Davido, Whizkid,  Tubaba and Olamide?? Na wa for some people o.

Quiet guy, always minding his business, he enjoyed “moving solo” and his mates have often asked him why. “ I enjoy my own company, thank you “ was is general reply. Weird, if you ask me. But no one was willing to dwell on that matter.

Post Graduate

Okay so after graduation, Greg, gets a stint with working on Wall Street in the city of New York and  two years later, he decides to come back home, besides, Baba, don dey wait for am to begin the process that should lead to a take-over, under STP!

The Amucha’s were not comfortable with Greg’s social life, and no matter how hard they tried , he didn't seem interested in fostering relationships with women and men alike. His life’s movement can be created on a simple chart; Home-work-home. That’s how life was in the 5 years that he had been back in the Country.

So they did what any African family will do under the circumstance, match making.

Married life

Adaeze’s dad is a close friend of the family, tor, they did what they felt they needed to do and both families became united, in marriage.

Was Adaeze happy? Who wouldn't be, at least, for starters? Her bedroom was the size of her father’s house! Cooks, stewards, maids, she was never going to bend down to sweep again, her monthly allowance for house keep and personal effects was more than her father’s total post retirement take-home. Ah! Adaeze was in paradise. Although she didn't like the fact that they were in separate rooms, she felt maybe it was for the better; they needed to at least know each other.

A month later, she could say some things about Greg; firstly, his room was like his sanctuary, she was not allowed in or around it; whenever he wanted to make love to her he went to her room. That pissed Ada off! Haba ! What of her own feelings? So where does she go, when she “has the urge”? Men are so selfish in a satanic way she whispered under her breath.

Secondly, his moods; Greg could go from red to blue in a few minutes! Kind of like Boy George’s song, this chameleon “comes and goes “. She found herself on the edge in his presence, you just never knew what to expect.

The third thing that she observed is that he played his classical music so loud that despite the sound proofing in the house, there was a vibration that just couldn't be ignored and it could go on for hours.

By 6 months, Ada was happiest without Greg! Yea, e don reach that level. In less than a year, Adaeze , loved her new name , her home, her bedroom , her bank account status but she was beginning to detest the guy who made this happen .

In less than a year, before the honey came down from the moon, this marriage that was just starting, was actually ending.
