Zvezda Announces: A Major New Signing Has Arrived!

Crvena zvezda Meridianbet has officially signed Chris Jones, who became the club's newest basketball player on June 24th.

While the club initially kept the identity of their new acquisition under wraps, Sportal sources confirm Jones as the latest reinforcement.

Following Maccabi Tel Aviv's victory over city rivals Hapoel, Chris Jones has arrived at Crvena zvezda Meridianbet.

Jones had a successful season with Hapoel last year, averaging 10 points and 4.2 assists. His career has also seen him play for ASVEL, Maccabi Tel Aviv, and Bursaspor.

Jones is expected to be a pivotal player in Navarro's system, elevating the team's playmaking and overall game organization.

After two seasons where Zvezda only managed to secure the Radivoj Korać Cup, the club at Mali Kalemegdan decided to embark on an ambitious new project with Navarro at the helm.

"I am very honored and grateful to be here. For me, being part of such a big club, not just in Serbia but in Europe, is a fantastic opportunity. The organization is superb, the people are wonderful, they're helping me adapt as quickly as possible, so I have nothing but praise," Navarro stated in his first interview for Crvena zvezda's official website.

He also emphasized that he couldn't imagine a better environment than Zvezda to begin a new chapter.

"I decided to leave Malaga in the last week of the regular season in Vitoria, I think it was a Friday. By Sunday, my agent called and told me about Crvena zvezda's interest. I was very surprised because I didn't expect it. Since then, I had to finalize everything in Malaga, where I spent four and a half years and have only fond memories of that period. However, I felt it was time to open a new chapter, and I can't imagine a better place for that than Belgrade and Crvena zvezda."
