Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has revealed that he is hurt by the recent criticisms but says he will not give up fighting for his club.
Manuel Pellegrini's men have had a frustrating season which will end trophyless and the Ivory Coast international has been heavily criticised for the team's recent failings.
But the Emotional Toure has admitted that the flak from the media has hurt him badly.
"Yes, a lot. People want you to progress more, and in the media sometimes it’s difficult," Yaya said when he was asked if he is hurt by the criticism.
“We will continue to fight as the fans are great with us and especially to me. I hope to show my commitment and show my respect to those fans who support me a lot in my years here. I will continue to fight to the end and I love playing for Man City,” he added.
Yaya was an inspiration in the midfield as Manchester City beat West Ham 2-0 in Sunday's English Premier League clash.
