The point of the design of the phone is an edgeless aesthetic. It has a 6.4-inch 17:9 custom display with a 91.3% screen-to-body ratio. The earpiece speaker, proximity sensor and front camera have been completely overhauled.
It also has a ceramic back cover, frame, and side buttons. A cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology is also on board which lets a user listen to calls without the earpiece.
The Mi MIX will be powered by a Snapdragon 821 at 2.35GHz, a 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, and 128GB of internal memory. The device also has a 4400mAh battery pack that has the support of Quick Charge 3.0.
Other features of the Xiaomi Mi MIX include full NFC functionality, a 16MP PDAF rear camera, and an 18k version of the smartphone that will have 18-karat gold trims around the camera and fingerprint sensor.
Xiaomi calls the Mi MIX a 'concept' smartphone, but it will go on sale in China exclusively. There is no information on whether the phone will later be sold in other parts of the world.
