Palacios spent over six years with the "Pharmacists," making 186 competitive appearances and scoring 15 goals. During his tenure, he secured the Bundesliga title in the 2023/24 season and the German Cup in the same year. Palacios was also a key member of the Argentina squad that lifted the World Cup trophy in Qatar in 2022, in addition to winning two Copa America titles with the "Albicelestes."
Palacios marks Ipswich's 11th signing of the transfer window. "I'm thrilled to have signed with Ipswich Town. This is a club with big ambitions, and I'm looking forward to playing football in England and competing against some of the best clubs and players in the world," the new recruit told the club's official website.
"We are genuinely delighted to bring a player of Exequiel's quality into the squad. He's a player who has achieved real success at the highest level, winning the biggest trophy of all, the World Cup, as well as significant club-level honours," stated Ipswich coach Gary O’Neil.
