The French striker believes France can make an impact but may not win the World Cup

When any major competition approaches, especially one like the World Cup, players either play to avoid injuries or do not play at all to avoid the risk of not been present but France striker Kareem Benzema who played for Real Madrid on the nite of its Champions League historic 10th win does not see why injury should be a scare for any player.

Benzema boldly declared on Friday that he didn't regret playing for his club at even if it was at the expense of the Brazil 2014.

Though struck with a groin strain on the night of Madrid's 4-1 victory, the 26 year-old insisted that he is prepared for the action in Brazil against Group E teams such as Switzerland, Ecuador and Honduras.

''I was injured but the main thing is that I took part and helped the team

"I am going to work to be the best. I feel good physically and mentally." Benzema told Spanish newspaper Marca.

Basking in the euphoria of te La Decima, the Madrid forward rated , and as favourites for the World Cup; while citing the rebuilding process in the French team, he still considered the team as one of the teams that could make impact.

"We are going to think about qualifying from our group and after that advance match-by-match," Benzema concluded.

Les Blues play their first Group E game against central American nation on June 15.
