The eclipse will happen on the night of the year’s first of three straight full supermoons, meaning the moon will be nearly at its closest to Earth for this January, as the eclipse takes place.

1. Get enough sleep

If you're feeling restless or overworked during this end-of-the-year lunar shift, make sure you're not cutting down your sleep time.

Although you might be more tired during the new moon, it seems that falling asleep actually becomes easier for people during the new moon, as opposed to the full moon when its supposed to be more difficult.

Either way, make sure to get yourself to bed, and give yourself some time to relax before.

2. Unplug and log off

It's no secret that screens can have a negative impact on our mental health and taking a break from social media, phones and computers is guaranteed to make you feel miles better.

Give yourself time at the end of the day to just put your phone and computer away entirely, and unwind with something that does not include a screen.

3 Keep a mood diary

The new moon provides you with a great opportunity to start checking in with yourself, so if you're interested in tracking how your mood might move in rhythm with the moon's cycles, start by writing a mood diary

Even if you just write down a sentence or two, creating an awareness of the movement of your moods can be very empowering and enlightening.

Do you believe in the healing and restorative power or crystals? Well, now is a great time to get them out and use them. Maybe you want to focus more on your creative expression, or clear away your tendency toward stress in the coming year.

New and full moons are also great times to charge and cleanse your healing crystals, so all the more season to seize this lunar opportunity.
