What's Next for Edwards? Doctor Offers Two Possibilities, Timberwolves Fear Playoff Run is Over
The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Denver Nuggets 112-96, taking a commanding 3-1 lead in their playoff series, but the victory came at a significant cost.
During the first half, the team lost two key players. While Dontea Divinćenca's season is over due to a torn Achilles tendon, the situation surrounding Anthony Edwards remains uncertain.
Dr. Jesse Morse, a renowned expert, has weighed in on the potential outcomes of Edwards' knee injury. The optimistic scenario suggests a hyperextension or an aggravated inflammation. In this case, his recovery would range from a few days to two or three weeks.
However, the doctor hasn't ruled out the possibility of an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear. If confirmed, Edwards would be sidelined for several months, effectively ending his playoff run.
Interestingly, the popular "Ant-Man" played the first three games of the series with an existing injury. His knee on the previously healthy leg was then injured in the fourth game, likely as a result of compensation and excessive strain.
Minnesota currently holds a 3-1 series lead, and Edwards' contribution in the first round was consistent, averaging 18.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and three assists in approximately 30 minutes per game.
