Toyota drivers have dominated the first 10 rounds of the 2026 World Rally Championship, securing 9 victories. Championship leader Elfyn Evans, reigning world champion Sébastien Ogier, Takamoto Katsuta, and Sami Pajari each boast two wins, while Oliver Solberg claimed one top spot, notably at Rallye Monte-Carlo.
It's no surprise then that the factory Toyota team is on the verge of clinching its sixth consecutive WRC manufacturers' world title, and its tenth overall in history. This historic achievement could be sealed as early as Sunday, at the conclusion of Rally Paraguay.
Currently, Toyota holds a commanding 174-point lead over Hyundai. While a maximum of 240 points are available for a team throughout the remainder of the season, only 180 points will be up for grabs after the Paraguay event.
This means that if Toyota drivers outscore their Hyundai counterparts by just 7 points this weekend, they will secure the manufacturers' championship.
This season, Toyota has only failed to achieve this margin in two rallies: Safari and Portugal. In all other events, Toyota consistently outscored Hyundai by more than 7 points, often by a significantly larger margin. In fact, the smallest such difference was in Estonia, where Toyota drivers amassed 10 more points than their Hyundai rivals.
