Following the fight, Dr. Brian Sutterer shared his insights on Carlos Ulberg's injury in a YouTube video. Dr. Sutterer diagnosed Ulberg after reviewing slow-motion footage of the moment his knee buckled during UFC 327. The doctor is confident that Ulberg suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear, which will necessitate surgery and keep him out of action until late 2026.

“This injury Ulberg sustained will almost certainly keep him out of the game for a very long time. It's not his Achilles; it's something more serious in the knee. This is pathognomonic for an ACL tear. I would be astonished if it isn't. There's nothing else that would cause the tibia to shift forward like that and then snap back, other than an ACL tear. This will almost certainly be an injury requiring surgery. I'd be surprised if we see him fight within 9 to 12 months, which is truly unfortunate when you've just won a title,” Sutterer stated.
