We've all been there, especially Lagosians - having sat for 3 hours straight in snail-paced traffic, we yearn fervently for a time when flying cars will become a reality.

It would appear Las Vegas is on it's way to achieving this.

Chinese drone manufacturer, Ehang, will be testing an autonomous drone taxi in Nevada later this year.

Ehang and the state of Nevada both hope  the move signals a future for the flying cars.

Speaking on this, Tom Wilczek, a defense specialist at Governor’s Office of Economic Development said he personally "looks forward to the day when drone taxis are part of Nevada’s transportation system"

Nevadans were first introduced to Ehang's "intelligent aerial vehicles" at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier in the year.

The exact time for testing the drone taxis this year however remains unknown for now.
