Google Turns Logo To Giant Rubik's Cube?

Every now and again, Google dazzles us with simple iconic, browser-based games it puts on its homepage. Recently, we suddenly saw a Rubik's Cube on Google's icon and we were amazed. In honor of the Rubik's Cube's 40th anniversary, Google transformed its logo on search pages to a giant, playable version of the popular object.

When a visitor clicks on the logo, the Rubik's Cube will spin and grow into an interactive version of the 3-D puzzle. Click the mouse to twist horizontally, while clicking and dragging down twists vertically.

The Rubik's Cube, named after a young Professor of architecture in Budapest (Hungary) named Erno Rubik who created an object that was not supposed to be possible in 1974. It was originally called the Magic Cube before being renamed after its creator. The puzzle reached its peak popularity in the '80s as a hot kids toy, with an estimated 350 million sold worldwide, according to the official Rubiks cube website.
