The second edition of the Winline Basket Cup got underway on Friday as Parma pulled off a convincing 86-62 upset over defending champions CSKA Moscow.
Parma and CSKA are competing in Group A alongside Zenit and Igokea, while Group B features UNICS, Lokomotiv Kuban, FMP, and Uralmash.
Group B action tips off on Wednesday when FMP hosts Lokomotiv, who touched down in Belgrade on Monday.
The Panthers enter the clash buoyed by a sensational start to their ABA League campaign, having pulled off a shock win against Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet. Lokomotiv, featuring Aleksej Pokusevski on the court and led from the bench by Tomislav Tomovic, have kicked off their VTB League season with back-to-back victories.
The top two teams from each group will secure a spot in the Final Four after six rounds of play. Last year's tournament took place in Saint Petersburg, where CSKA lifted the inaugural trophy after defeating UNICS in the final.
