Cape Verdean goalkeeper Vozinha's jersey, worn during the 2026 World Cup group stage match against Saudi Arabia, fetched a record-breaking 11,116 euros at auction. This figure surpassed the sale prices of kits belonging to football stars like Alisson and Neuer. The sale, conducted on the specialized website MatchWornShirt, set a new benchmark for goalkeeper uniforms on the platform.
The previous record was held by a jersey belonging to the Brazilian goalkeeper, used in a Liverpool versus Tottenham match in 2025, which sold for 10,131 euros. A year prior, in 2024, Manuel Neuer's jersey, worn during a Germany versus Scotland game, was auctioned for 9,047 euros.
Vozinha's kit was acquired by a fan from the United States after a fierce bidding war that saw a total of 59 bids from 16 different countries, including Brazil.
Despite Cape Verde's elimination in the Round of 16 against Messi's Argentina, Vozinha emerged as one of the standout performers and surprises of the 2026 World Cup. The goalkeeper was crucial for his national team, delivering remarkable performances throughout the tournament, particularly in the clashes against Spain and Argentina.
